The National Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Warning, Flood Watch, and High Surf Advisory for Miami-Dade County. Tropical Storm Helene is expected to intensify into a major hurricane as it moves from the northwestern Caribbean Sea into the Gulf of Mexico by Wednesday and Thursday.
Residents should be prepared for the following conditions:
- Deteriorating Weather: Adverse conditions will begin across South Florida the evening of Wednesday, September 25th, continuing through the night into Thursday, September 26th.
- Damaging Winds: Occasional gusts and tropical storm force squalls are expected throughout the region.
- Heavy Rainfall & Flooding: Flooding is possible in various areas across South Florida today and Thursday.

- No Tree Trimming or Bulk Trash Disposal: Avoid trimming trees or placing bulk waste items outside, as these can become dangerous projectiles in high winds.
