The City of Homestead is proud to announce its first annual Juneteenth Emancipation Exposition on Saturday, June 15th, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the City Hall Plaza, located at 100 Civic Court, Homestead, FL 33030. This historic event commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and celebrates the rich cultural heritage and resilience of the Black community in Homestead and beyond.
The Juneteenth Emancipation Exposition promises to be a vibrant and educational experience for attendees of all ages. The event will feature a comprehensive Black History Historical Exhibit, highlighting significant milestones and figures in Black history. Attendees can look forward to a variety of cultural performances, poetry readings, and music that showcase the talents and traditions of the African American community.
One of the highlights of the exposition will be a panel discussion featuring local community pioneers. These esteemed speakers will share their personal experiences of overcoming adversity in the South Dade community, offering insights into the historical and contemporary challenges faced by African Americans and the triumphs of resilience and unity.
Local vendors and food trucks will be on-site, offering a diverse array of products and cuisines that reflect the rich cultural tapestry of Homestead. This event provides an excellent opportunity for residents to connect with the community and for attendees to support and enjoy local craftsmanship and culinary delights.
