The City of Homestead and Homestead Parks and Recreation Department is launching a new “Virtual Rec” program that will help keep residents engaged and active at home while City Parks are closed due to COVID-19. Each Friday, Parks and Rec will release new weekend activities that will help residents of all ages have fun while still following the latest “Safer at Home” guidance. The first activities will launch on Friday, April 3, 2020 through the City’s Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/cityofhomestead), Instagram (@cityofhomestead), and website (www.cityofhomestead.com). Residents are encouraged to share photos or videos of themselves participating in Virtual Rec with the hashtag #HomesteadVirtualRec and tag the City of Homestead to be featured on the City’s social media channels.
