Summer Youth Employment Program

A Partnership Between the City of Homestead & CareerSource South Florida

The City of Homestead is proud to partner with CareerSource South Florida (CSSF) to offer meaningful summer job opportunities to local youth while supporting our local economy. This initiative empowers young people to gain valuable workplace experience, build essential job skills, and earn income—all while contributing to the community.

Youth Registration

Are you between the ages of 15 and 18? Do you want to earn money while learning valuable job skills?

CareerSource South Florida offers young residents the opportunity to:

  • Gain real-world work experience

  • Build work-readiness skills

  • Earn $13.88 per hour

  • Work in positions in local businesses.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be between 15–18 years old

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legally eligible to work in the U.S.

  • Must reside in one of the following ZIP codes: 33030, 33033, 33035, or 33090

  • Participants will be selected through a lottery process

Employer Registration

Are you a business or organization in Homestead looking to make a difference?

By collaborating with CareerSource South Florida, local employers can:

  • Host young adults (ages 15–18) for summer employment

  • Support workforce development in our community

  • Provide guidance on appropriate workplace behavior

  • Help youth complete 140 paid hours, including 20 hours of job-readiness training

Employers play a critical role in preparing the next generation for success in the workforce.
