The City of Homestead is inviting residents, businesses, and community organizations to participate in a Pre-Development Meeting for the FY 2025-2026 CDBG Annual Action Plan. This meeting will provide an opportunity for the public to share their input on how federal funds should be used to support housing and community development programs.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Phichol Williams Community Center, located at 951 SW 4th St, Homestead, FL 33030.
As a recipient of federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the City of Homestead expects to receive $917,424 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and $388,732.07 in HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) funds. These funds are used to improve housing, enhance infrastructure, create economic opportunities, and improve the quality of life for low- to moderate-income residents.
Each year, the City is required to submit an Annual Action Plan outlining how these funds will be used. Public input is a key part of this process to ensure that the City addresses the most important needs of the community. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend and share their thoughts on funding priorities and potential projects.
