At the August Special Council Presentation, the Homestead Soup Kitchen received a generous donation from the City of Homestead and the Rotary Club of Homestead. This contribution is part of the City’s ongoing commitment to support local non-profit organizations that make a significant impact on the community.
As part of the City’s annual budget process, the decision was made to choose a deserving service organization to support. This year, the Homestead Soup Kitchen was selected for its unwavering dedication to feeding those in need. For over 41 years, the Homestead Soup Kitchen has been a cornerstone in the community, providing over 40,000 meals annually to individuals and families facing food insecurity.
During the presentation, City officials praised the Soup Kitchen’s efforts and recognized the hard work of its volunteers who operate solely on a volunteer basis. The sizeable donation was presented to the Homestead Soup Kitchen team, including key volunteers who were in attendance.
