Prepare for an exciting launch event as the City of Homestead Parks and Recreation Department proudly introduces Senior Programming at the Phichol Williams Community Center (951 SW 4th St, Homestead, FL 33030). The launch event will take place on Monday, February 26, 2024, from 7am to 1pm.

The excitement begins with a lively Coffee & Donuts Programming Meet N Greet session from 7 am to 10 am. Share your insights and suggestions on the type of programming you'd love to see, whether it's invigorating fitness classes or engaging activities that spark joy. 

But that's not all! After this interactive session, immerse yourself in the fascinating world of technology at the Fab Lab from 10 am to 1 pm. In collaboration with Gang Alternative, this extraordinary partnership brings you an exclusive opportunity to explore 3D printing with hands-on demonstrations.

This new programming marks a significant leap forward for the City of Homestead and the Southwest neighborhood. The new program will double the current senior programming offered to seniors, making this launch a momentous occasion. The City of Homestead is not just introducing senior programming; it’s doubling the joy and opportunities for residents!

The event is FREE and open to the public. Whether you're a senior looking for exciting activities or a community member eager to learn more, join us! This event is your gateway to valuable insights, providing a sneak peek of senior programming at the community center.

Membership Info: 

The Parks and Recreation Department will be expanding the William F. Dickinson community center membership to include access to the Phichol Williams Community Center. For those with transportation needs the Homestead Trolley has added a new stop to allow connectivity between the two community centers. 

The new annual membership rates are as follows: 

  • Homestead Residents 50 & over: $35 
  • Low-Income Homestead Residents 50 & over: Free 
  • Non-residents 50 & over: $40 
  • 49 & under: $130
