Bulk Trash

Bulk trash can only be placed out one day prior to scheduled pick-up. If you do not know your scheduled pick up times, click here for the Solid Waste Pick Up Schedule.

Garbage

Household garbage can only be placed out after 6:00 pm one day prior to pick-up and the container must be returned to the rear of the property no later than 8:00 pm the day of pick-up.

Construction Work Without A Permit

Fence Erected Without A Permit

All fencing can only be installed after an approved building permit from Development Services is acquired. For more information on the permitting process contact Development Services at (305) 224-4500 or click here to visit their website.

Operating Without A Business Tax Receipt

All businesses within the City of Homestead must have an active Business Tax Receipt. If you need to apply for or renew a business tax receipt contact Development Services at (305) 224-4504 or click here to visit their Tax Receipt Office page.

Overgrown Grass & Litter

Grass is considered overgrown if on developed property it is 8 inches tall and on vacant land if over 12 inches in height. Properties must be kept free of litter and debris.

 Improper Landscape Maintenance

Landscaping must be maintained, neat, and free of refuse and debris. Please consult Chapter 29 of the City of Homestead Municipal Code for more information. Click here to access the City Code.
